John (J.F.) Burton, RIA
Principal – Senior Financial Consultant
John brings more than 30 years experience of finance, real estate, accounting and business administration to The Burton Group. John is a Registered Investment Advisor and holds a Series 65 license. While working in real estate development, general contracting, tax, accounting, and business management, John developed a passion for serving others and wanting to help them fulfill their dreams. It was this “real world” experience that influenced his decision to found The Burton Group and Above & Beyond Investments, LLC. Besides being a Fiduciary RIA, John is also licensed in Life, Accident & Health, Property & Casualty Insurance in Indiana, as well as six additional states. Born and bred a Hoosier, John is an honor graduate from Edgewood High School, an Army veteran and holds a BS in Church Ministries from North Central University. John and Susan live in TX and Bloomington and have three adult daughters.
Susan Burton
Marketing/Property & Casualty Insurance Manager
As co-owner of The Burton Group, Susan oversees our marketing efforts and community relations as well as being a licensed Property & Casualty Insurance producer licensed in Indiana, Texas, Arizona, Michigan, Ohio, and South Carolina. Previously Susan has served in both the educational and nonprofit sectors as a fundraising development professional for more than 20 years. Her experience includes holding positions as Executive Director for the Community Justice and Mediation Center (CJAM) in Bloomington, Indiana, Alumni Director at The King’s College in NYC, Advancement Coordinator for RREACH International in Dallas, TX, and the Assistant Director of Development at the Cibolo Nature Center & Farm in Boerne, TX. Susan earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Cornerstone University in Michigan. Susan is also a trained mediator, and a professional vocalist. Besides investing time in their business, Susan and JF love to spend time with their family in TX and Indiana.
Keely Cunningham

Keely is a certified tax preparer and is licensed in Life & Health and Property & Casualty Insurance. She has an Associate Degree in Business, in addition to more than seven years experience as an administrative assistant. During her spare time, you will find her at the basketball courts, the baseball fields, or busy at her creative craft detailing business. Keely and Justin have four children and live in Spencer, IN
Letitia (Tish) Walker
Office Manager
Tish manages the day to day operations of The Burton Group. She has lived in the Ellettsville, IN area for more than 20 years, where she and her husband, Kelly have raised their two children. Prior to settling down as a homemaker, she had more than a decade of experience in office administration and management. She enjoys spending time at the lake, listening to music, and making memories with her family.
Drake Smith
Client Services/Life & Annuity Insurance
Drake was born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana. He is a licensed Life, Accident & Health Insurance Agent. Drake is excited to put smiles on the faces of our clients. While working full time at The Burton Group, he is also pursuing a degree in business administration. He is a former high school baseball coach who seeks to help build the lives of others. Outside of work, he enjoys playing pickleball, strength training and spending time with his friends and family.
Felicia Roberts
Receptionist
Felicia comes to The Burton Group with a belief in the importance of being dependable, staying positive, and continuing to grow. She has an associate degree in accounting and is a proud mom to a teenage son. When not working, Felicia spends time with family, taking long walks outdoors, and enjoying the peace and beauty of being near any body of water. At her core, she values kindness, honesty, authenticity, and personal growth, and believes every experience is an opportunity to learn, connect, and move forward with purpose.
